Served on cask into a pint glass in a pub in Cardiff.
Pours a dark-ish but clear amber colour with a thick foamy head.
Smells very malty with a hint of hoppiness to it. Very subtle.
Tastes oh so lovely, perfectly balanced between medium-light malts and the hops. Very smooth and goes down a treat.
Overall a lovely pint, definitely glad I tried this.
Cask-conditioned at the Patriot Bar, Pontypridd 7/7/2017. Amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Easy drinking bitter, with some hedgerow fruits, earthy malts and a lingering, bitter, finish. Fine. Scopey (14778) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2013
Cask at a friends wedding. It pours clear deep amber with a thick beige head. The nose is earthy, wood, toast, dark fruit and caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, caramel, brown bread, toast, leather and some dark fruit with a rather dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Both quite sweet and dry at the same time. An OK bitter, but I just didn’t find it that drinkable. leaparsons (10556) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2011
Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Bright amber with an off-white foam. Aromas are Tea and cream with light autumn fruit. Clean, earthy hops with some toffee and toast. Flavours are mixed autumn fruit with raisins and peppery, dry hops. Quite low bitterness with an earthy finish. OK. jfb (6270) - GERMANY - JAN 15, 2011

Cask Handpump at the Blacksmiths Arms, Broughton Mills 08/11/2008
Some malt aroma. Amber coloured smooth on the palate and malty with a crisp and slightly nutty dry finish. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2009
Cask conditioned - handpump Victoria, Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a little white head but good lacing. The aroma is strong on the fruit whereas the taste has more going on: fruits, malts, a hint of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Maybe served too warm but shows signs of good flavours.

Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Fest 09. Brown with white head. With all the great beers around, this struggled a little to make an impact, there is a bready malty body with a gentle hop overlaid, but all very understated and quite thin. Still very drinkable, but not dramatic. Fin (10542) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2009
Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival 6th and 7th Feb 2009 Pours a dark brown with a red tinge and large off white big bubbly head. Plenty of earthy hops present themselves initially and there are sponge and biscuity flavours coming to the fore. There is a light citrussy note and its a likeable if not exactly stunning beer.
