Poured on cask into a pint glass in the Pen & Wig pub, near the student union in Cardiff.
Pours a clear amber colour with a very nice head and lacing all down the glass.
Smells nicely hoppy, a classic bitter.
Taste is very balanced, again like a classic bitter. Maybe leaning slightly towards the hops giving a clean bitter finish that isn’t overpowering at all.
Overall a lovely afternoon ale, a classic, crisp tasting bitter. A lovely drop which I could drink all day.
Cask at Red Lion (JDW), Morriston. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Very watery, rank back taste. Horrible. rosenbergh (11760) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2010
Cask at The Great Western, Cardiff, Wales. Rated 28.03.2009.Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - JUL 4, 2009
Dark copper colour with smooth tan head.
Yeast and bitterish dry floral/fruity hops in aroma.
Flavour is dry floral hops. Rather easy British Bitter but definitely worth trying.
Pint on tap in the Kings Head, Monmouth. Amber colour, Thin white head. Good session beer. A little bland and on the average side.
