Specially aged with lightly toasted Oak, weve carefully crafted this festive seasonal to capture the warmth of an old, iron-stove Oakhouse. With subtle hints of vanilla and a deep amber hue, this rich winter lager is ideal alongside succulent stew or piping hot roast. All you need now is plenty of firewood. And matches.

Rickards has nothing but poor beers and this is no exception. Inconsistent brewing. In my six pack I had 3 atrocious beers and 3 slightly better bottles. In my 3 worse beers the aftertaste was almost putrid, it left a rotting meat taste in my throat. The 3 other beers, one of which I am drinking now smell pretty good sweet woody aroma with a light body and a quickly dissipating head. The first taste has very little complexity and only faint flavours. It is neither hoppy nor malty and its slight sweetness and "oak" taste is emphatically artificial. I would not buy this beer again.

Bottle to tulip I bought a house...this was left in the fridge. Unfortunately I have to at least try it. Corn, wheat, and wood. Clear amber with a thin creamy head. Funk, grains, maybe apple.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2014 Pours dark gold with some light orange highlights. One finger white head. On the nose a strange mustiness, and then some definite pumpkin. Seriously. On the palate definitely tasted like a pumpkin ale, albeit a very mild version of those I have had before.

Reviewing from old notes. Aroma is a bit "off". Pours a medium amber. Tastes like Rickards with artificial syrupy oak and vanilla sprayed in with a chemical gun. Avoid.

Can. Clear pale amber with a thin white head. Aroma is some wood, caramel, a little sweet. Taste is all right, slight oak, caramel.

Cinnamon spice scent. Extremely smooth: no hops at all, very mild finish, little carbonation, creamy. Vanilla and spice. Light and refreshing. Although nowhere near my most favoured seasonal, certainly one of the best Rickards Ive encountered.

bottle. pours gold with light orange tint. Aroma and taste dominated by a strange chemical-like oak/toffee taste. Otherwise light and one-dimensional.

Couleur dore, effervessante, collet trs fin, persistant. Au nez, boises et beaucoup trop dpices : clou de girofle, petite dose de vanille. Bien malte, trop prsent, manque toutefois de corps. Pas mauvaise, mais aprs 2btl, jai eu mal au coeur !!!
