canadian? rickards gold? old vienna? canadian light? coors? coors light? oh no wait its Rickard’s Pale! avoid this swill shintriad (701) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2007
Draught. How they call this an "India Pale" blows my mind. Nothing but sweet, watery corn syrup notes with almost no hops and only a hint of bitterness. LordBeamish (144) - Boozetown, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2007
bottle: Pours a lovely golden blonde colour with lots of carbonation and a thin white head. Hoppy, almost fruity aroma. Initially tastes nice on the palate with fruity and hoppy hints but like all of the offerings from Rickards, I found the finish to be most unsatisfying. Finishes with an unatural creamy texture that I can’t explain. Where does this come from? I’m not sure but it makes this beer finish baaaad. UPDATED: MAY 15, 2008 341 ml bottle - pours a clear gold with lots of bubbles. Faint aromas of corn and chemicals. Taste much the same with an artificial dry finish. Not much in the way of hops, and certainly not an IPA (as the label claims) by any stretch of the imagination. Still, not entirely horrendous. I would take this over most other Molson/Labatt products, but that’s not saying much.... snoopdogg (3) - Kippen, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 19, 2006 does not count
Enjoyed on a weekly basis. Preffered on tap, but out of the Rickards tasters pack is almost as good. Distinguished taste, that is not overbearing like some Pales. My favourite of the Rickards family.

Poured a clear golden yellow with a quickly vanishing white head. Had a nice slightly bitter bite that wasn’t overbearing. Flavour leaves something to be desired, but for a widely available macro it’s pretty good. TheJester (2543) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2006
341 mL bottle. Gold in colour, with no head. Mild aroma of hay with a hint of citrus and paint thinner. Very heavily carbonated. Tastes like bubbles. A touch of malt. Sweet. Corn. No hops. How is this an IPA? Definite aftertaste of yeast. Not offensive, but not worth another try. Slacks (615) - Bolton, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 8, 2006
341ml Bottle: Poured like carbonated urine.. *gasp*.. Aroma is very mild, and judging on my previous experience with Rickard products, that’s a positive thing. Taste is again quite mild, sadly offering up corn once again alongside vast rows of nothingness. They advertise it as an IPA, although I’m quite sure it’s never even been told stories of hops. Granted, it’s not offensive, so that makes it tops in the Rickard list. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - OCT 16, 2006
12 oz. bottle from somewhere in Canada - Pours a super clear light golden color with a big off white head. Nice lacing. Light carbonation. Has a light grassy hop aroma and flavor. Bitterness is noticeable. Light to medium body. Wortha try. Thanks mom V. Beer Snob (501) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 18, 2006
On Tap - very fresh and went down smooth. An IPA? Not bloody likely - no hops or bitterness - but pleasant enough.
