From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted, breadish malty. Flavour too is light breadish. Roasted caramel and mild fruity and acidic bitter. Light bitter malty finish.

bottle, getauscht mit Jevers Zeuge - danke! Hazy brown colour with a small beige head. Lots of aromatic hops, the beer is definitely on the hoppy side, which makes it an interesting choice.

Gift. Bottled, 110708. Dark brown with nice head. Aroma and flavor is very tangy on hints of caramel malt.

TaxiDriver (1775) - Stadland, GERMANY - NOV 29, 2007
Bottle. Dark chocolate, malty. Average off-white foamy head, fast and fully diminishing; dark red body. Average duration, moderate bitter start & finish. Medium body, dry & creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very nice Dunkel, a little bit like a chocolate stout.

Thank you Jeverszeuge! It’s a red mahogany coloured beer with a dense, creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and a little bit of nuts. The flavour is initially sour, like in infected, with a vinegar touch. But then i becomes sweet with notes of malt and nuts. Sadly the start spoils the overall impression, I’m pretty sure this could have been a quite tasty dunkel.

red-copper colour, mid head. smells sweet and fruity. starts sweet, malty with fruitiness and a little smoky in the background. later more bitter hops. finish comes with malts and some fruity aromes. the plopp-bottle has labels which are so simple that they are realy good.

Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2007
Dark copper with a small but lasting off-white head. Grain and hay aromas. Sweet malty flavour with a hint of a bitter finish. Thin body.

omhper (25138) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAY 27, 2007
Bottled, thanks jeverszeuge! Clear nut brown, rich beige head. Earthy malt aroma. Fairly sweet with soft mouthfeel and medium body. Fairly low on hops, restrained earthy malt flavours. Has a slight citric edge, probably from improper keeping so no points deducted. Low bitterness.

pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - APR 29, 2007
Bügelverschlußflasche: Mahagony coloured, hazy, medium-sized off-white head, quickly collapsing; presumably infected: fruity-estery with traces of sour-mash, dark malt and caramel; moderate sweetish flavour, light bodied; caramelly fruity finish. No pleasure, deserves a second chance.....

jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2006
Bottled. The label clearly said Dunkel but I could not detect any difference from the Marzen that I just had before this one. Except for the fact that this one stayed in the bottle. Does anyone? So: Aroma of apple and a hint of carrots. Some orange coming up when warming up. Hazy, orange/brown color, yellow irregular head, fair lace. Sweet, orange, light bitter, flat.
