3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours black with a beige head that not only was thin, but faded quickly as well. Aroma is a bit unusual for this style, being mostly earthy malts, along with toffee, licorice, and a little bit of raisin. Perhaps chocolate as well. As for the taste, I get a good deal of raisin and licorice. Lesser toffee elements. It really is more on the darker fruity side. It really tastes like juice instead of beer. It is more light in body despite the potency of this one. Thin in texture as well, with an aftertaste of raisin, licorice, and now I get some chocolate. Despite the deceiving palate, the alcohol comes out in this one. I don’t think this one is bad. It just isn’t what I’m looking for in a stout.
0,5l from bottle at Klubovna, Banska Bystrica. BB 07.05.2018. almost black colour, small tan head. smells earthy, licorice, ripe fruits, some coffee, light bitter chocolate. not overly special smell, but I very much enjoy it. Full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, bit ashy, licorice, light sweetness, light coffee, lightly boozy, ripe fruits, peppery. finishes lightly sweet with notes of ripe fruits, earthy and licorice notes. nice one maybe a bit old schoolish (duh) could be a bit more bold I rather rate bit still quite good one. Fra fat på Cafe Viking (København), sammen med Børge: ibenholt med kort sku. Portvinsvinøs aroma og smak med mørke malter, svisker, rosiner, dessertsjokolader og vanilje. Meget myk, og med stor munnfylde. Farlig lettdrikkelig i solveggen utenfor C.Viking. Streif av luxuskaffe. Mild bitterhet med hint av mørke bær.
