Really smooth and full-bodied, not so roasted as porters usually are, almost stout, moderate carbonation, wide flavor spectrum. olio (10342) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 17, 2012
50 cl bottle. BBE 25.01.2014.oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 30, 2013
Pours a pitch black color with a small, rapidly dissipating off-white head.
Aroma is quite unexpected, some very dry or even burnt corn, almost like a bit burned popcorn (without salt), furthermore, the aroma gave me a clear reminiscence of an aroma of cooled pancakes! So quite unique stuff even though I haven’t got to the tasting part yet. The roasted malts and mild dark chocolate notes are there too followed by some english hops.
Flavor is also very dry and dominated by oat, some toasty malts, wood, a bit of flour, hints of rye, cocoa powder and some hints of vanilla also.
Velvety smooth palate with a mouth-drying malty finish. A total kick in the head kind of surprise and definitely not in a bad way. Unique.
Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is mild plum, raisins, toffee, slight roast, liquorice and ashes. Flavour is roast, ashes, ripe fruits, mild lactic notes. Quite dry palate. Toomio (593) - Joensuu, FINLAND - MAY 30, 2014
Vähän hajuton, vähän mauton, mutta kuulaan musta. Raikas portteri. Kyllä toistekin voi juoda. laiti (8481) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 16, 2012

Aroma is stale and feels rather English. It has English hops, some hay and some licorice. Flavour has english hops, some hay, somewhat salty licorice, some herbs and distant coffee notes. Dry finish with lingering hoppiness. The licorice and herbal notes are nice, but this is just too English for me. Also, I expect a 8% ABV beer to be less thin.
500ml bottle from AlkoPsytron (2377) - Turku, FINLAND - MAY 5, 2013
Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and licorice. Taste is roasty and sweetish with hints of dark chocolate and licorice. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty. Quite balanced imperial porter.
Smell of roasted malts, metal, chocolate. Dark brown colour, high brown head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, chocolate, some tar. Bitter and sweet, sweetness gets more through with warmth. Soft but plentiful carbon. Surprisingly watery when cold, no longer when warmer. Beerheart65 (1503) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 16, 2012
Mild aroma is bit stuffy, cooked vegetables, after that licorice and coffee, chocolate.. so wait a bit. Dark brown/red to black, short head. Sweet, roasted, coffee, medium body, soft feel, slight bitterness, dry roasted finish. Ok porter, tasty. mikkopen (1172) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 23, 2012
500 ml bottle. Black, with a thin tan head. Sweetish aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavour of roasted malt and chocolate with some sweetness and coffee notes. Dryish roasted hoppy finish. Nice. BitchPls (810) - FINLAND - DEC 20, 2012
Dark, almost black beer with a medium minus beige head. Aroma is roasted but a bit watery and sweet coffee. Mouth feel is round and soft. Body is medium. Not much bitterness. Some roastiness. It’s got sweetness but not too much. This is a pretty balanced and soft beer but it is not too complex or adventurous for an imperial porter. This would be great with beef or lamb I think.
