Falling from the sky like bombs of flavour come the Reindeer Droppings! Each one is sweet like California raisins, but bitter and pungent like a freshly peeled grapefruit, lip-smackingly tasty... then "pow!" it’s gone. How did that happen?

Jabic (713) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - DEC 8, 2017
Ar: Light, sticky dough; deep, pronounced caramel; a bit of hay and lean, leafy hops. Ap: Gold-orange and clear; medium-small very light tan head with moderate retention, settling into an opera stage of medium bubbles with an outer ring of fine bubbles and little, long slashes of lacing on the glass sides. T: Punchy, fresh caramel; medium sweetness, very round; juicy orange-rind hops, resiny; bitterness is medium and clean; marmalade and black licorice; finish is pretty bitter, with citrus rind flavor. P: Medium body with medium carbonation; round yet always firm. O: I like this amber ale; it mixes characterful, fresh caramel malt flavor with a bright and very citrusy hop flavor, balancing them well and allowing a sweet yet brisk drinking experience.

Reindeer Droppings has a thick, off-white head, a clear, bubbly, amber appearance, and narrow lacing left behind. The aroma is of sharp, yeasty, barnyard whiffs, with some sourdough bread and dried fruits. Taste is of the same elements, with zesty, horseblanket yeast, spiced holiday white bread, and mellow hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is low medium, and Reindeer Droppings finishes on the dry side. RJT

dmctaster (98) - Florida, USA - NOV 24, 2016
Hazy orange with a white slightly orangish head. Aroma is citrus (grapefruit) and raisins. Very robust aroma. Taste is citrus hops. Tastes like an IPA due to the citrus with a pale ale aftertast.
