"This succulent premium ale has a wonderful blend of hops that give spicy and citrus fruit flavours leading into a dried fruit and biscuit malt finish. Twice a gold medal winner at the British Bottlers’ Institute Awards. Rich and malty as well as fruity and spicy. Nutty amber malt and biscuit pale malt together with crystal malt giving toffee/caramel notes. Fuggles and Styrian hops brings masses of tropical fruit and fragrant spiciness. Robust bitterness is balanced with the full body and mouth feel provided by the malt and the satisfyingly complex hoppiness."

Reddish amber clear beer. Semi dry palate. Nicley balanced toffeeish malt with a smooth but subdued hop counterbalance. Creamy malt in the finish and an aftertaste of fading hop.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Bottle. Thin off-white head that quickly dissipates. Chestnut brown body. Nuts, caramel, toffee, grass. Malty. Bitter-sweet, well-balanced. Slight oily palate. Gentle bitter finish, gentle carbonation. Not at all bad. 6 3 6 3 12 ### Bottle. The body looks like amber with black malt added. Medium off white head. Nose is Christmas, maraschino cherries, fruit, black malt. Bittersweet. Dry finish. Suggested food pairing: goes really well with Christmas cake. 7 3 6 3 12

[2897-20100529] 500mL clear bottle. Mild paint thinner alcohol aroma. Slightly hazy, dark amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. English profile hops flavour has light sugary malt. Medium body. Nice enough but for the clear bottle.

2010-05-29. Dark amber body with a modest beige head that fades. 3+ Mild aroma, sweetish malt, crystal (?) caramel malt touches. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet malt, caramel, light toasty accents. 6+ Smooth average plus palate has a nice weight to it. Pretty solid, but a touch too sweet overall. Bottle from The Grog Shop, Oxford

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 18, 2009
Bottled (thanks to the craziest bartender in the world). Golden amber colour with mediumsized fluffy/foamy head that leaves some nice lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild toffee as well as mild oak wooden notes. Flavour is sweet caramel malts, some fudge, mild grass and even some kind of stingy sweetness, not exactly alcohol, but something kind of close to that kind of sweetness. Smooth palate.
