GoufCustom (2255) - HONG KONG - JUL 2, 2014

330 ml bottle as “Moulin des Moines Gluten Free” bought at Organic Bliss in Causeway Bay.

Cloudy hazy pale golden pear juice colour with thin traces of yeast sediments; Razor-thin head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds and completely gone in 2 minutes; Zero lacing with bubbly small carbonation; Very sweet aroma of millet malt, with caramel, sweet pear juice, star fruit, plum, faint alcohol, and hint of rum raisin; Medium sweet taste of diluted plum juice and milky grains (millet malt?), plus very light caramel, thin syrup, faint wet cardboard, carbo, sour fruit notes, and light lemon; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is strange: no usual barley malt taste, instead it’s a juicy mixture of milky grains and diluted plums. Watery sweet, slightly syrupy agaves with light caramel, topped with slightly sour (not infected) fruity palates. Slightly papery but not annoying. Exotic and interesting… Hoppiness is no aroma, and light lemon in taste. No hops and no bitterness, just sweet and sour fruity finish; Wet after taste. Watery and fruity to mouth.

Comments: Definitely not the usual barley beer - it looks like a traditional African brew, with smell and taste like agave nectars and tropical sour fruits. Almost no trace of barley beer’s elements can be found here. Not completely off-putting, but I wonder if this is the right sort of alternative that gluten-intolerant beer drinkers have to put up with. For curiosity sake, it has killed the cat inside me. Not again. : (

Bottle in Vilamoura. Headless gauzy dull blonde. Aroma of lemon barley sweets, root vegetables. Low fizz, poor condition, poor beer generally with a puff of redeeming sherbet but bugger all else to recommend it; card, slime, aluminium, asthmatic mucus. Very stale tasting like mildewed cardboard. Wretched. No substitute for gluten-containing beer at all.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 330 ml bottle, poured into a long tulip glass. Color is very pale and cloudy. Almost no head and absolutely no lacing. Smell is very special. It has something grainy in it but totally different than other beers. I suppose because it’s made with millet malt. Taste is also grainy and a little tart. Body is light to medium with high carbonation. Overall this is surely an interesting brew but not necessarily in a good way. It feels like a lambic but made with a specialty grain. I would recommend this beer only to those with gluten intolerance.

330ml bottle from Finn, thanks! Quickly diminishing white head. Pale straw coloured body, unclear. Poor lacing. Uninviting aroma of grainy milk. Artificial taste of sweet milk and malts. Some fruity hints towards the ending. Lively carbonated. No good, mostly drain pour (Tromsø 20.04.2014).

Bottle 0.33l from local market. Originally rated 05072012. Colour is hazy light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sweetness, grain and malts.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldenes Bier mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, getreidig. Geschmack malzig, getreidig, minimal bitter, blumig.

djoeye (5411) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 10, 2014
Hazy beige-yellow body, quickly diminishing head. Sweet scents, gum-sweet, maybe because of the millet. Tastes grainy, sugarish, plum-limonade-like, some butter. Somewhat watery, easy to drink, like non-abv softdrink. Finishes with not much. Overall; a little bizarre beer, but the use of millet may explain it. "Ingredients: Water, malt of millet, hops, yeast." A sweet beer. 33cl (158 calories) bottle 4.5%abv [email protected], [email protected]

Flaske 0,33l fra Kilpishalli. Drukket i Skibotn 22 Feb 14. Lys gyldengul. Litt uklar. Nesten ikke skum. Litt lacing. Sør plommearoma. Smaken er papp med underliggende mørk frukt. Et snodig øl.

EddyBeer1 (1058) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 22, 2013
Jaune trouble, effervescence assez faible, quasi pas de col. Serait-ce de la limonade au sirop? Bizarre pour une "bière" bio! Impossible d’en boire plus d’une gorgée, ça ne passe vraiment pas! Yerk!

kraddel (9331) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 12, 2013
Pours fuzzy blonde , smaller white head Smells sweet , a bit like candy Tasts is very sweet , sugary , sweet aftertaste Mouthfeel is low carbo If this is glutenfree beer, i pitty the alergic people
