Serving: from bottle--purchased at Allendörfer. Aroma: lightly apple-like aroma. Appearance: average, rocky, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cloudy, red body. Taste: lightly sour initial flavor and moderately sweet, caramel finish with average duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very good, easy to drink and interesting.

500 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber to copper with an off- white head. Aroma of sweetish malts, some caramel, also a little bit yeasty fruity, interesting. Medium body with an average carbonation. A medium sweetness is accompanied by a light bitterness - balanced. The flavor pretty much follows the aroma - sweet grains, fruits with some banana, hints of spices - is however a little watery with a short finish.

Pours a hazy copper color with medium beige head. Aroma has grain, cereals, yeast, bread and toffee. Taste follows the nose, grainy and cerealy, some bready/biscuity notes along with caramel and yeast, slightly overriped banana.

12.12.2016 - Another ancient feeling one. Taste based on those Kellerish brown malts and Emmer sweetness. Without the usual Riedenburger "Gärkeller-smell". Almost no hint to the hops

Aroma; fruity malt bowl, different herbs, nice scents, nice blends, toffee, chocolate, light coffee. Look; off white head, rusty hazy brown body. Taste; caramel, toffee, fruit bowl, banana note, leaves - finishes herbal-caramelly with nutty notes. Feel; normal. Overall; very interesting blend of four complete different malts. Ritzn (758) - Bavaria, GERMANY - OCT 23, 2016
Murky brown with little beige head. Aroma is strawberry, phenols, butter, dried fruit, maybe chocolate, caramel, some hoppy stuff. Taste is quite full sourness with a large amount of butter and herbs, also quite tart with some slightly phenolic sweetness. Pleasant light mouthfeel with maybe a hint too much sourness. Medium smoothness, medium body, not heavy, quite drinkable. Not bad.

appearance: opaque purplish brown, creamy tan head, minimal lacing. aroma: dark malty notes (hint of chocolate) with nuts, caramel, and a bit of stone fruit. taste: semi-sweet caramel and molasses notes, with cherry, raspberry, hint of balsamic vinegar. finish: sweet-and-sour fruit notes give way to a little spice character--almost some root beer characteristics. notes: Bear with me here: tastes almost exactly like a traditional Kotbusser, although the traditional nutty notes are restrained, and combined with a bit of stone fruits. Creative; would drink again. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.
