0.33l bottle from rewe in lörrach. pours a clear mahogany with a dense beige head. aroma of nuts, prunes, toasted malts. flavour of raisins, nuts, vanilla, some coffee. 0.33 is ok, more would have been a bit too cloying.

Ator, tu n’as pas tort ...

CloakedDagger (2575) - - JUN 2, 2017
Bottle 66 cl. Pours a clear, dark orangey brown - bordering red - with a small, beige head. Nose has some overripe fruit, sweet dacay. Rich, malty body, again this sweet rot, figgy, some balsamico without being sour at all, just a really nice and very complex malt bill. Spitzenklasse. 020618

0.33 bottle @ Hotel Borgmestergaarden
Dark brown, small, off-white. Aroma is malty, fermented fruits, a bit alcoholic. Taste is sweet, malty, alcoholic, fermented fruits are still present and resurface towards the finish. Medium, oily, soft. Overall pretty decent, especially if one is into bocks. Definitely a lot of sugar among the flavors, perhaps even too much - it becomes cloying as one keeps drinking.

I bought this bottle from Amstein. I drank it yesterday with Massimo in Lausanne. In my own opinion, it is a really good doppelbock, the kind of product that you drink step by step contemplating the mountains in this beautiful month of april. The color is brown/red and black, regular carbonation thin and white head. The taste is really tasteful the malt and fruits stays a long time through your body, it could be an excellent beer during the winter, reading a classical book. The taste is malty, plum, a little smocked, small touch of cynammon, apricot, really sweet, few hop and consistent, a good experience.

Bottle 0,66 l / Amstein - St-Légier (CH). Dark red brown beer with an average beige head. Aromas very malted, roasted, chocolate, caramel and dry fruits. The taste is sweet, round and silky, haloed with caramel and chocolate with notes of vanilla, walnuts and raisin. Slight bitterness in the spreading.
