Bottle, 50cL. Home. A very dark brown sparkling beer with a big beige foamy head ; good retention. Roast, prune, caramel, toasty chocolate note. Medium round sweet ; warming baseline ; light fresh dry. Medium body, light to medium oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet roasty prune finish. Overall, very good !

Zarrach76 (295) - Grenoble, FRANCE - MAR 30, 2017

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Dave. Clear deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, some creamy sweetness. A little tangy dark toffee. Mild dry floral mid. Airy dry finish brings a trace of banana esters. Drinkable.

Couleur brune, reflets caramel, forte mousse. Nez malté, caramel cuit, fruits secs, raisins secs. Nickel!

Bottle 0.5L. Clear brown body with a large, frothy, tan head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Moderate malty (toasted, caramel) aroma with notes of nuts and alcohol. Moderate sweet and light-to-moderate bitter flavour with an average-to-long sweet finish. Light-to-medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation.

Bottle t level 42, thanks to Wingmane. It pours deep brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is toasty malts, earthy, wood, leather, toffee and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, dry wood, leather, earth, toffee, toasted brown sugar, fruit cake and a lick of booze with a slick, sweet finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent example of the style.

33cl bottle shared at Level 42. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. It pours a clean amber color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet fruity with notes of caramel and toffee. Taste is also rich sweet with more caramel and toffee. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, meh

Leighton (21742) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2017
Bottle shared thanks to Dave. Pours clear copper-brown with a creamy, tan head. The aroma holds toasted caramel, dates and figs. Medium sweet flavour with rich bready character, toasted cereal, brown sugar, no hops. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sugary finish, more brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, dates. Enjoyable, though very simple.
