I love porters and this name says everything you need to know. I am not huge spicy food fan but this beer tastes just like Chipotle peppers so if you like Chiles things you’ll love this beer. blackflag321 (704) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 20, 2013
Bomber pour to pint glass. This was a good basic porter with a nice chili kick . . . just enough to make it interesting, not a burn that messes up the beer flavor. I don’t know that I would have enjoyed it as much if I drank it without an appropriate food. I had it with my wife’s homemade chicken chili. What a meal! drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2011

On cask at GTMW11 Murky brown with a beige head. Chipolte peppers chocolate aromas. That’s a pepper flavor spicy hot mire like jalepenos. Thin body. Not good. This brewery seems interesting, but I haven’t seen them pull off a good beer yet. 7/3/6/3/12 badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 28, 2011

On cask at GTMW - Pours black with a ring of tan head. Light smoke and meat on the nose, with an ashy malt base. Same taste, but with a sharp, hot pepper bite at the end that builds and builds. Heavy on the heat, which I’m not usually a fan of. I disagree with the other ratings that it’s too much, but that’s personal preference. I thought it was lovely. Later in the day I returned to the Real Ale tent for this heat bomb. It lives up to its name as the inky black body contains a nuclear wave of potent peppers. Starting with the nose it does not relent until after a huge swig of water and a palate cleanser from a nearby brewpub. This one should have come with a caution label.
Sampled at GTMW in the real ale tent. I told the girlfriend she should check this one out because she loves pepper beers. Pours a dark brown near black with a tan head. Aroma of nose stinging peppers, very mild roast. Smokey chipotle pepper dominate the flavor, along with some heat. Cool, but kind of insane at the same time. Not something I could have more than a sip of. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2011
Cask at Great Taste. Ummm, yeah. This burned. Pours a deep brown black with a tan head. Nose is faint cocoa then a slap in the face of smoked chipotle. The nose has a heat to it. On taste, the chipotle overwhelms everything, lending it’s dry an smokey depth then leaving you with a long, slow burn. Huh.
