Sample from a growler shared by a local BA. Pours a dark golden color with a small white head. The nose had some sweet caramel malt and ripe citrus fruits. Unfortunately, there was a definite diacetyl aroma that distracted from everything else. The flavor opens with a blend of diacetyl and cheese before finishing more like an IPA should: some resiny, earthy hops and caramel malts. I have had a few of their beers and this stands as the most disappointing from Right Brain. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 28, 2011
tap at RB. amber body with small white head. light diacetyl and soap all around. big, bold bitterness...this faint diacetyl seemed to affect all their beers on that day... HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2011
On tap at the Right Brain Brew pub. Pours a nice deep amber with an off white head. Aroma of resin, strong fine, citrus. Mild fruit and leafy hops. Flavor has a lot of bitterness, strong grapefruit and orange with a fair amount of pine and caramel. Some sugar cookie, along with some fruity sweetness. This beer is medium bodied, carbonation is appropriate. Cool beer though not an absolutely killer one.
