COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Country Alt is open-fermented with our house saison strain. Dark and toasty, but refreshing with an accentuated bitterness. The beer references the old tradition of Düsseldorf Altbier, but with a Walloon accent.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed brown with a medium sized tanned white head. Sweet bready plums with a nice malt note to it. Soft stone fruit, musk, fruit and sweetness. Gentle musk, fruit. Slow and malty, toast with a bit of sweetness.

Draft at brewery. Light malty, nutty aroma. Medium brown with small ring of head. Taste dries out, wooden, nuts. Light bodied builds to crescendo rapidly, and then...Mild lingering palate.

Tap at Right Proper. Deep thick opaque brown malt. Underlying faint saison-esque yeast tones. Not really a fan of the aroma, light baker’s chocolate. Ruby amber malt touches. Nutty mildness. Medium bodied session brown saison?

Where and how: at brewpub
Aroma: medium intense, nice rounded malts. Hops tad subdued. This one is more malt sided…
Appearance :
Top: medium white cap.
Base: hazy amber
Palate : medium-thin bodied. Dry, with average finish. Good drinkability.
Taste: First things first. Its far too dry to be Alt. malty character was more evident in aroma. Taste presented to me as more of a saison/de garde in style with hits of Alt.
other notes interesting hybrid, yet I wished to see more Alt in Alt.

chinchill (5069) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 24, 2015
On tap at the brewpub. A good looking but unusual altbier with a Belgian (Saigon yeast) twist. Slightly funky with a good, but relatively dark roasted, malt base.

Growler from the source. Mahogany body with hints of burgundy and crimson. The beer hisses as the nearly two inches of sea foam head gradually dissipates. Dark fruits, spice, German sweet breads. Bready and yeasty, slightly sweet, finishing dry. Mild bitterness. Solid.
