Looked a lot like the Red Alert Amber, but tasted nothing like it. The malt isn’t as sweet and the hops are much more assertive. This is a pretty flavorful beer, but balanced. RagallachMC (631) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Aroma: Bready maltiness with a touch of toast and light caramel. Light metallic twang. Some light earthy/spicy hoppiness. Appearance: Dark amber in color and clear. Off-white head was full and frothy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Malt upfront with a little more toast and a little less bread than the aroma. Very light caramel. Some light spicy/earthy hop flavor into the finish. Nice balancing bitterness and a clean finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: A nice drinker for a cloudy spring day. Went down easy and would be great with food. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 29, 2006

On tap @ the Brew Kettle some time around the same time as Brian and Andy: Light cream colored head w/ a medium amber body. Umm, smokey chicken wings and malty!!!! The guy next to me ordered wings as I got my beer. Toasty and bready malts w/ a clean moderate floral hop aroma. Clean! Smooth and bready malt flavored w/a bit of herbal hop @ the semi sweet finish. Aftertaste is a bit bitter; Clean malt throughout. Fuller body, very smooth with well hidden alcohol. nice, clean, and malty flavor throughout, and very drimkable. Very nice beer!!!! Dark amber, clear, big fluffy head and good lacing. Spicy bread malty aroma. Taste had a nice full sweetness without being too thick. Some spices as it warmed up. Mostly dry finish. Good brew! (on tap at the pub, 6/18/05)
