Time for another wallowing through the mire of Norwegian commercial lagers. This time it’s Ringnes Skjærgårdspils to put it’s head on the chopping block. Oh well, sometimes these beers surprise me. Pours a standard fizzy pale lager body with a quickly disapperaring foamy white head. Smell is sweet malts and cooked vegetables. Taste is sweet malts with a slight hop sting in the very beginning, then fading out to veggies and hints of wet cardboard again. What is that? Such a strange flavor to actually enhance in a beer. Oh well, it’s not quite as horrible as many of the other Norwegian commercial summer seasonals (like Hansa Sommerøl, for example: www.ratebeer.com/beer/hansa-sommerol/11148/92005/& No home run for this one either, though.

Reviewed: 0,5 l can. Very light in every department. But in fairness, it does quench your thirst. And that is probably the only reason you’re drinking this.

Can bought at Rema 100 in Bergen. Yellow color with almost zero foam. Smelled almost nothing. Very watery taste with hints of bread, yeast and aluminium. Pointless beer.

A kind of traditional norwegian "sommer øl". Normal lager with watery feelings. Not much here.

08.08.2008. 0,5l Can. Pal golden colour with withe head. There is some malt aroma and the beer smells a little of malt. The texture is thin like water. The aftertaste is weak.
