Trappis**d (34) - Dorset, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2014
The beer for kings, A thoroughly quaffable ale, hearty and smooth rounded with hints of caramel, best tapped off cask, a silky finish, it’s a reliable old favourite.

minutemat (5478) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2014
Cask @ Tal Y Don, Barmouth. Seaside pint with the in-laws. Pours amber, vague nutty malts with a touch of caramel. Fairly bland and boring.

Scopey (14723) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2014
Cask at Porter & Sorter, Croydon. It pours deep amber with a thick, dense white head. The nose is earthy, wood, caramel, leather and varnish. The taste is woody, earth, light caramel, brown bread and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Straight-forward. Not bad.

Cask at Spoons, 21st March 14, strong flavour, not that pleasant. OK, not my thing for a session. Overall not my thing

Cask at Wetherspoons, Streatham. Pours a very slightly hazy amber with a white head. Malty, bready, caramel aroma. Medium body, mild carbonation. Fairly sweet, with toffee cake, orange, a little grass, wood. It's OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Jan 2013 - Orangey Brown in colour. Fruity; orange citrus. Malty; grainy toasty malts, caramel, toffee. Hoppy; grassy, slightly earthy hops; spicy, peppery. Sweetish spicy fruity malty throughout. Decent.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2017 Nice beer. Tastes milder than it is. Can see why it won back in ? 1987. Second pint very good. Great bite on palate. Little hazy in appearance. Good strength and glad I revisited a year later. Up from 3.1 to 3.6. Love the caramel and nutty flavours. Definitely never fails to please. Third pint another year on. Definitely deceptively strong. Love nutty flavours. someone else says a king of beers. Third tasting didn?t disappoint. One of my all time favourites.

Cask by handpump at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow - clear deep amber, thin off-white head, weak resinous sour malty aroma, no lacing, sour toffee, berry fruits, good carbonation, bittersweet finish

Pizd (435) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - SEP 15, 2013
(Cask): Clear brown with a tan head. Malty aroma with some sweet dark fruit notes. Basic but enjoyable malty flavour with a touch of sharp sweetness and dark fruit notes. Smooth on the palate. Not bad.

DandyLion (518) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2013
Cask @ the White House Leicester. Dark brown, malty aroma. Taste is malty and sweet with vinous quality. It's ok, could maybe do with slightly more hops for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
