Sampled at GABF 2017 in Denver, CO. Numerical rating only - did not take detailed notes. Listed in the GABF program as "Sierra Blanca Green Chile Cerveza". hauxe (1024) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - JUL 30, 2017
Pours gold from the bottle. The white fizzy head fades fast. Aroma has a soft malty base with noticeable chili. Taste is very sweet, with a strong chili inflection. Finishes sweet and spicy. Feels contrived, and lacks all nuance. Quickly wears out its welcome. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 15, 2017
Head literally runs away, sickly yellow appearance. Nose/taste of corn, peppers, mildly spicy, palate finish of a soda. Not really even like a beer. bnokk (548) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 12, 2016
looks like a lager. Head is fizzy, and short lived.
FLAVOR- tastes like super cheap lager And hardly any Chile flavor. rosenbergh (11956) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 11, 2016
Draught at the Casa Chimayo, Santa Fe, NM as Rio Grande Green Chile.
slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 8, 2016
Clear golden color with a small white head.
Sweet malt and some mild vegetables in the aroma.
Mild hops, sweet malt, mild vegetables and some chili in the flavor.
Lagery beer with a mild chili note.
Goes easily with the chile relleno.
the pepper and light heat is nice enough, but it’s a pepper beer atop a substandard yellow lager. Nothing to see here, folks... stevoj (5880) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 24, 2016
Bottle from Whole Foods-Indian School Plaza. From the get-go, a weak pour, pale golden and minimal head. Aroma of peppers. Stronger in aroma than in taste. Seems that some chilies were added to a pale lager. Nothing too special here, pepper aroma and taste, not even finishing well. dwyerpg (6498) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Another basically undrinkable chile beer. Very pale yellow, gross chile flavor. Sticks in the esophagus.
