COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5.7% sweet (milk) stout aged on a free-trade, organic Ecuadorian cacao nibs which impart a complex de-bittered chocolate flavor which we soften with vanilla and the lactose showing through from the underlying sweet stout. The resulting beer is a great drinkable, low alcohol desert beer that is a favorite particularly those with a sweat tooth. This beer was our first collaboration with a homebrewer. Chris Stawney is a close friend to the brewery and came up with the idea and receipe for this beer. His beer was submitted to the Stone Pro/Am competition in 2011 but despite winning the popular vote wasn’t selected. Their decision is our gain since we’ve always enjoyed this beer. Thanks Chris!

mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 11, 2017
On tap at Rip Current, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings he cocoa nibs out massively upfront, with a sort of a wild animal character. Flavour is along the same lines, with dry cocoa nibs ands one earthy notes. Simple beer that lacks much depth. Meh.

Sweety chocolate aromas. Pours thick black with a foamy white head. Tastes like chocolate milk, no real beer character to it.

skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 20, 2014
Pours a pitch black with a thin tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is spicy dark coco nibs, milk coco, roasted malts, coffee, caramel, and sweet malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with a lot nice nice chocolate notes. Has a medium body with a semi watery mouthfeel and mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a pretty tasty sweet stout that features chocolate notes nicely.

Dark brown, almost black, pour with a khaki head. Strong roasted malt and lactose aromas. Good chocolate, and an interesting dark fruit character. Slight vanilla and some caramel. Slight chocolate bitterness along with plenty of roasted malt, lactose, and dark fruits. Nice cocoa flavor, some caramel, and mild coffee.
