COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
6.9% bold, dark, bready and somewhat roasty porter can sometimes be tasted behind the Hazelnut flavor that is the primary flavor and the aroma. This beer is made for those who love Hazelnut and like a little alcohol to go along with it. If you love hazelnut, this is your beer!

January 23rd, 2015 - I'm loving Rip Current's dark stuff, and that includes the Hazelnut Porter, which has won a special place in my heart as one of my favorite beers available on the North Park 30th Beer Boulevard. Dark and placid, the beer quickly cools to look like a placid lake at night, with a rich smell of coconut, popcorn butter and kettle corn. It suggests sweet and smooth at the same time. This is an apt aroma if so, because the mouthfeel is unbelievably smooth, with a delicious flavor of coconut and popcorn. It's the body that sells this, but the flavor is also dynamic, offering several permutations of coconut flavor, shifting subtly in each of the flavor phases. Rip Current has outdone themselves with this brew. Now all I can do is pray the recipe never changes.

mcberko (19172) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 11, 2017
On tap at Rip Current, pours a cloudy deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out light toasted hazelnuts and crusty rye bread. Flavour brings out a sort of artificial hazelnut character, like hazelnut extract. Dominated by the faux-hazelnuts, so this one ain’t working for me.

(En fût au Rip Current North Park): Un nez très expressif de noisettes et de céréales grillées. Le corps est mince et fuyant, la buvabilité abrupte.
