Bottle. Brown with an amber glow and a beige head. Caramel aroma with fresh citric hop notes. Sweet bready flavour with a decent amount of bitterness to finish it. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer.
MMørk og ristet, blomster humlet. Speciel smag, men god alligevel. God til lidt tungere retter. Bolian (189) - - JUL 17, 2016
Pours chestnut dark brown. Clear with off white foam. Nose is malty with some herbal and yeasty notes. Taste is again malty with a bitter finish. The beer is fresh but a bit thin in the palette for a dark ale. In all Rise brewery could benefit from more experimentation with hops and malt aromas, products are very similar and without the big surprises. Milter (960) - Nyborg, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2015
OK Dark Lager fra Ærø. Flot farve og skum. Tilpas med sødme i smagen. Måtte godt være lidt mere bitter TorbenJensen (1532) - Valby, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2015
Nicely frothy ale with durable foam. A little discreet malty that do not promise the big cases. The taste is malty and some caramel, slightly fruity notes and licorice can be felt, but it is caramel malt richness that is the main theme of this ale. Toward the end, it has a sensible long hops bitterness that barely kill top of caramel sweetness, and it’s really good because otherwise it can quickly become too sugary. I think it lacks character and depth. Rasmus40 (21345) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2015

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with a diminishing beige head. Aroma is sweet with a tart apple-like note, bordering on nail polish. Malt and a bit of molasses in the back. As it warms, a clove-like spicy note appears, accompanied by notes of nuts. Sweet, slightly dusty, malty flavour with a tart overtone. Slight notes of wood, and the same clove-like spicy note as is in the aroma. Remote metallic note as it warms. Sweet, malty and fruity, and mildly bitter finish with a roasted touch. Lingering malty sweetness and medium bitterness, with a grainy note and some apple. Overall a pretty middle-of-the-line beer, with a couple minor flaws, but still drinkable if in a tight spot, I guess. 11.02.12. PLundsgaard (487) - Tranbjerg J, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2012

Nice brown of color with a beige head. An aroma of sweets, sugar, nuts and malty. A flavor of malt, sugar, sweets, nuts and weak metal. Sigmund (7662) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 28, 2011
500 ml bottle, from NETTO, Denmark. ABV is 6%. Organic. Mahogany coloured beer, moderate off-white head. Nice aroma of malts, caramel and brown bread, some burnt notes in the background. The flavour has also notes of malts and caramel, but is not very sweet. Burnt notes and dusty hops in the finish. Not exceptional, but still one of the better beers I’ve had from Rise.
