On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Big bourbon and vanilla on the nose, full of wood and a nice orange and citrus note as well. Big. Very big. Medium bodied, big and sweet, huge. Absolutely huge. Sweet and full of brown sugar, toast, a hint of maple, warm vanilla. Big and full of sweetness and booze. Long malt and wood into the finish, toast, sweetness. Big. Too big.

375 ml bottle, 2016 Vintage purchased at Spruce Creek Provisions, Kittery. Great clarity in a Amber color liquid. Aroma is bold dark fruits, (raisins, prune, figs) and just a hint of oak.davey101 (751) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 14, 2015
Wow, real nice blend here. The oak is subtle compared to the dark fruit flavors. The over 10% alcohol content is hidden almost totally. Gives just a slight warming of the belly after the swallow. Good body with a slick and slightly sticky texture. As sweet as it maybe, it never gets cloying. Very well executed.
Winter 2014 release. Pours a clear dark red with lasting khaki foam. Nose is rich butterscotch, maple, raisins, and toffee. Bourbon minus the heat, Irresistibly sweet and decadent. Taste is brown sugar and a rich toffee with slight burnt sugar/hop bitterness. Loads of maple and some booziness. This is an awesome barleywine! The barrel aging and blending is spot on!

Bottle shared at Anchorage Feb ’15 Tasting: Poured orange with white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, oaky, and fermented fruits. The barrel aging has melded this beer very well with oak, caramel malts, fruity, subtle hops. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Draft at Black Birch. Pours a medium copper color with a finger of gaseous eggshell foam. The nose is caramel sugar, popcorn a touch of fruit and some buttery oak notes. The palate follows with a thinner body than expected. The flavors mimic oak aged cornpops cereal with some toasted malts, grain, subtle fruit and some heavy vanilla oak influence.
