Rim bubbles come from the small head. No lace. Deep, deep brown where no light shines through.
Dark, nearly burnt toast smell. Biscuity.
Think brandy and stout blended. It’s tasty. Chewy but not too full a body. Higher carbonation. Beerathon (1680) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 3, 2015
The ABV is listed as 7.5% on the bottles. Big bourbon aroma and flavor, strong. Tobacco, dark fruits, and oak in the flavor. Silky black in color with creamy mocha head and lacing. mansquito (7283) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 24, 2015
Meulemans’, Jamaica Vermont bottle: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is a lot of wood, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, and some fruity notes. Taste is pretty barrel-aged. This is a quintessential sipper even though it is not particularly alcoholic. Plenty of complexity. Well crafted. I would be interested in sampling more beers from this brewer. malrubius (3121) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - DEC 12, 2014
Bottle from Meditrina. Black with tan ring. Woody vanilla boozy aroma with hints of chocolate and coffee. Chocolate coffee vanilla and medium fruity boozy raisiny sweetness with mild woody herbal bitterness and mild wheat tang. Medium body. Low carbo. Drinks heavier (abv) than it is, which is nice in this case. A sipper than doesn’t get you too fucked up. Very good. JBPortland (1582) - Virginia, USA - SEP 4, 2014
375ml bottle (2013 vintage) pours dark brown black with big offwhite head, appears overcarbonated. Nose is a weird mix of hefeweizen yeast, rotten fruit, ash, charcoal, some light dark fruit, smoke, Sharpie. Mouthfeel is highly fizzy and over carbed. Taste is watery, thin, tar, charcoal, burned paper, charred dark fruit, tiny bit of oak, weird fruity yeast. Finish is watery, chemical, strange ashy fruit, burnt wood.

12.7oz (autumn 2012) bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon and oak, light vanilla, light wheat, and hints of dark fruits. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer. mcox90 (2170) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 23, 2014
375ml bottle from Tully’s. Pours black with a one finger mocha colored foamy head. No lace. Some dry oak, raisins and bourbon on the nose. Wheat, more oak, vanilla and dark fruit round out the flavor. Nothing stands out. Thin and dry palate. Ok stout, but disappointing for the price. Didn’t see where there was anything exclusive about it. Reynolds314 (3472) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Nice job Rising tide. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, light toffee, and cocoa. Taste is very similar with a bit of toast. Quite dry and tasty. Thing body is my main complaint but you know what... NICE Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - FEB 18, 2014

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head crackles and recedes leaving no lacing. Oak, vanilla and Beam aromas. Thin with light caramel and Jim Beam front to back.
