Day Two of the Great Chris Meyer/Aaron Nielsen Franconian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Prost! Cloudy orange/brown appearance with an off white head. Slight candy, caramel malty, bready yeasty, somewhat herbal aroma. A touch fruity, rich caramel/toasty malty, quite yeasty bready, flavorful kellerbier. Very nice label. Pours muddy brown with high, creamy head. Smells fresh yeasty, grainy and hoppy. Starts with sourish yeast flavor, paired with grassy hops and some sweetish cereals. Middle part has also delicious sourish yeast flavor and grassy hops. Goes into a yeasty finish with some grassy hops and some herbs. Very great Kellerbier!
bottle, from landbierparadies. very hazy amber with a lingering head; very fruity, as good kellerbiers should be - some passionfruit vine in the aroma; quite doughy, reminiscent of pineapple upside down cake. very drinkable oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 7, 2015

Boom, I get the all-important tenth rating for this beer. Bottle by 14.03.13. Nose has a great Kellerbier character, lots of malt character, some grain. Unfiltered haze but not cloudy, dark orange running on copper with a beige head. Darker malt, touch of smooth yeast but there’s thicker cracker, some caramel/toffee and spice. Medium body, fizzy-crisp.

Initially moderately toasted malty taste with caramel, a shy nutty touch and present hoppy notes from the middle part; sweet-bitter and mildly toasty finish with caramel and shades of chocolate in the aftertaste. 01.II.13 fonefan (53396) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 8, 2012
