Dry stout in the Irish tradition. Black as coal and very smooth. Served with a creamy head. Irish stouts are not as bitter, boasty and strong as some other stouts. Our stout is brewed to enjoy.

"This seemed pretty spot on style wise to me, if not terribly exciting. Near black pour, smooth roast, light body. Wouldn’t do the trick in the winter, but a nice end of summer beer for those in a dark beer mood. Nitro."

Draft at River City. Nice beige head, leaves nice lacing. Little aroma. Nice chocolate flavor, but more sweetness than roastiness. Body is a little light for style. I really like the flavor though!

On tap @ River City. Black pour with a dense white head. Roasted malt, cocoa powder, coffee, and some earth on the nose. Half decent aroma. The flavor starts out nicely with plenty of roast, coffee, and cocoa powder. A light earthiness, too. There is a bit of a green apple character that comes through on the end that kind of ruins it, however.

Draught at the brewpub. This beer seemed to divide raters. But I'm right in the middle. Not much happening in the nose beside some malt. Looks stouty with solid inky black body with fine lacing. Body was a little thin, but smooth and rounded. Flavours i got were mild roasted malt, and sweeetness more chocolate than espresso. Overall a decent stout, but lacked a little backbone. Would maybe have again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at the brewpub. Opaque ebony with a creamy nitrous head. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, and dusty oats. Taste is the same, with a touch of tart berry. Medium body is dry, watery and very sessionable.

BeerandBlues2 (14027) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Tap. Pours opaque with a small, fizzy tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate and roast malt with earthy hops and prune notes. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Sampler @ River City -

This beer just really fell flat on its face and just a poor showing. Dry stouts are hard to please anyways because they are designed for quaffing, not to stand up to a regular stout or even an impy stout. However, this just lacked any character in both the aroma and flavor department. It looked great with a dense tan head and dark black body, and the mouthfeel was silky. But that’s about where the kudos stop. Zero aroma and zero flavor. I just got nothing from it. No sweetness, no roast...it’s almost like they used a concentrate or something. Pretty lame.

At 4.8% Pours black with a large creamy tan head. Aroma of dark roasted/toasted malt. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is dry burnt malt with a hint of chocolate. Dry. Mildly bitter. Quaffs excellently.
