This unfiltered wheat ale has hints of banana and clove. A great thirst quencher! This is a traditional bavarian weizen. It is more spicy than other wheat beers.

"more of the banana flavor from the yeast than in many other american versions, which makes it a little more complex and enjoyable. otherwise, standard fare. 5/09 - hit the spot on a hot day"

On tap @ River City. Cloudy bright orange pour with a white head. Some banana up front, bread, and yeast. But a weird vinegar and lemon juice aroma. Mild clove notes. The flavor is tart and a bit acetic. Weird. Bread, banana, clove, and some citrus. Yeast, grass, and water. Pretty low carbonation, too.

Cloves and banana definitely there in the aroma, but also some moudly laundry and cake. Appearance is muddy orange with bright tinge. Still as a millpond. Not much body or head. Taste is a funky mix of banana spice and some other weird unnamable things. Not especially satisfying. Not my thing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap. Pours hazy yellow with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is banana, wheat malt and citrus notes. Flavor is malt dominant with banana esters and citrus notes with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Sampler @ River City -

I found myself quite suprised that this turned out to be the best beer of the afternoon. Normally, I’m not a huge hefe fan, but this was just a wonderfully fresh beer. Aroma was bursting with bubblegum aroma and bready malts. Flavor had that fresh baked bread flavor, combined with the yeasty-goodness and some really light citrus notes. Excellent, excellent beer and I know next time I drop by, that this beer might just be tops of my list.

marcus (10668) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 11, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy golden with a modest white head and a slightly sour wheat aroma. There is a sourish wheat flavor that starts fruity with cloves and banana ester, then finishes dry and slightly bitter.

Draft at the California Brewers Festival as Harvest Weizen. Hazy gold with a white head. Medum body with creamy carbonation. Aroma of banana ester. Banana flavor with citrus and a touch of spice in the finish. Spice notes.

~Pours a cloudy yellow with firm white head. ~Spicy clove aroma with coriander and yeart. ~Clove and banana flavor with some citrus notes. ~Light creamy feel. Quick acidic citrus finish. ~Pretty decent hefe. Pleasant

Apparently it was brewed in the Bavarian tradition. Kind of hazy golden. This one did not show any signs of this. It was bland with light wheat notes and a moderate zesty finish I guess. Perhaps a light fruitiness, but in minute amounts. Not all that great.
