UPDATED: MAR 14, 2017 "A hoppy slightly suped up amber ale with subtle oaking present more in the flavor and feel than the aroma. Something I enjoyed and would gladly kick back a pint of."
Fallen off in recent years...was a 3.0 last two times.

Draft @ River City Brewing Sacramento. Nice, clear, reddish amber color with little carbonation & foam. Light wood flavor; balanced with the hops. Medium bodied. Overall, a quite tasty beer...alcohol not apparent the flavor! brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 19, 2013
On tap @ River City. Amber in color with an off-white head. Caramel, toasted malt, and some dark fruit. Mild wood aroma, a hint of vanilla, and some roast. Sweet flavors of caramel and toast. Notes of dark fruit, wood, and roast. Maybe some chocolate and vanilla. Westkyoto77 (635) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 11, 2013
Draught at the brewpub. Aroma of malt and hops there, but seemed to be fighting instead of helping each other.
Dark amber-brown, with a low thin head. Sticky mouthfeel thin for something aged in oak.
Taste of molasses and plenty of hops, but there was definitely some unbalanced bitterness and tartness present. Tap. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, fruity esters and earthy hops. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. baraciisch (3239) - California, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Aroma slightly oaky, brown in color... Flavor is caramel, toffee malts, with hints of oak, not terribly complex for a wood-aged beer... Kind of disappointing, but drinkable...
