3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark amber with a weak off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is full of caramel with some butterscotch hints. Taste starts out with a warming sweet that quickly goes to a slightly bitter and dry finish - nothing overwhelming. This is a little thicker than one would expect. A nice medium mouthfeel with some carbonation. Overall, this is one of my regular beers. I would have expected to rate it higher, but the numbers work out. There is nothing exception about the ESA, it is just a decent beer.
Pours a finger of head on a clear dark brown body.
Aroma is dark grains and a bit of caramel.
Taste is a chewy caramel, but not too sweet, malty goodness.
Texture is softer.
Quite enjoyable. Bacchus66 (875) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 14, 2017
12oz bottle. Clear light amber, thin off-white head. Sweet, malty nose, hops come in mid palate. Smooth texture, light-medium body. Caramel finish. Larry_Duffman (580) - - DEC 15, 2016
I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours reddish amber with a beige head and lacing. The aroma is caramel, herbal, and earthy. The taste is caramel, earthiness, and slight hop bitterness. I thought this was a solid amber. mzaar (3589) - Varberg, SWEDEN - NOV 3, 2016
Tap. Pours amber with an off white head. Aromas of malt, caramel and nut. Flavours of caramel, nut, fruit, malt and hints of liquorice. Nutty and liquorice finish. The aroma did not tell what to come in flavour - which was highly drinkable. wombat23 (1662) - Texas, USA - MAY 9, 2016
Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with an eggshell colored head. Aroma of malt and bread. Taste is malt, bread, caramel and is a little nutty. Has a sweet, watery finish.

Aroma: lots of malt and caramel with faint apple juice; Appearance: slightly hazy dark amber with thin, white head that hangs around; Taste: typical amber ale maltiness with some bready notes; Palate: medium body with long, sweet finish; Overall: it’s fine but not compelling. Probably won’t buy again. Jrwhitney6 (503) - - DEC 24, 2015
