I was actually upset by this beer. Now, I’m a huge fan of Belgian style, but the wheat feature in this brew honestly made me want to vomit. I don’t mean to say that it’s not great, it’s just not my style. I don’t drink wheat beers. But this brew masquerading as a delicious dark beer tricked me. I’ve actually even dumped a few of them.

Draft at HopsScotch, Jersey City. Clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, spice, and possibly some faint citrus notes. Taste is banana, Belgian yeast, clove, mild vanilla, and spice. Creamy texture. Has a warming finish. Good. Spindelphia (21) - Lambertville, New Jersey, USA - MAY 5, 2016
A great tripel. Heavy on the alcohol, but it’s hidden well enough that it doen’t feel like 10% alcohol. Nice and dry at the end, it’s not overly sweet, which I like. A great local brew. ByTheirLimpin (321) - New York, USA - FEB 27, 2016
Stumbled on in a Westchester gas station beer cave. Poured from a bottle. Amber in the glass. Hefty fine bubbled head. Syrupy pour and a lot of carbonation. Nose is sweet caramel. Palate is round sweet, sticky, up front. Grains carry a little weight to help with balance. Pretty good for gas station beer. closey22 (1946) - Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA - FEB 25, 2016

Bottle from HO1K. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white ring. Strong aroma of tartness, yeast, and bread. Medium carbonation. Clingy, lightly oily texture. Nice mouth feel. Taste is mostly mildly tart yeast with a somewhat dry finish. Kind of one dimentional. Would be better if the flavor was more complex. Hides the alcohol well.
