kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2013
Pours a clear ruby amber body with a small tight bubbles covering of beige head. The nose is rich and sweet with lots of dark fruits and caramel. A little bit of alcohol on the nose, some light fruitiness from the yeast. The flavor is pretty well done, it’s sweet but not overly cloying. Lots of dark fruits and caramel, figs, plum, and some light cocoa notes even. Moderate level of alcohol, but it’s not overly hot or anything, it’s tempered pretty well by the sweetness. Full bodied and rather chewy with soft gentle carbonation. Pretty nice Quad. Not overly complex or up with the Belgian classics, but pretty enjoyable.
