Tap. Pours a flat black body with a small fizzy light brown head that disappeared pretty quickly. The nose is boozy, it almost burns my nose hairs as I take a big sniff. Intensely roasty with lots of vanilla and wood, lighter actual bourbon. Smells a bit sweet. The flavor is completely different from the nose, tons of vanilla and roast, but really well tempered bourbon and alcohol flavor. I thought that this was going to be really boozy, but it’s quite the opposite. Very smooth and drinkable with little to no alcohol heat on the finish. It’s on the sweeter side as far as the style goes, but the sweetness really works with the vanilla flavors from the barrel. A little light on the carbonation, but still pleasant. This is pretty good. This beer will knock your socks off. A true sipper. Thick black with slight head. Huge bourbon aroma and flavor. It is strong at 12%, but it tastes even higher than that.
