By far my favorite beer from this brewery. Nice orange tint with a strong fruit nose. Good carbonation and full bodied. If youre a Belgian style fan then this is a must try.

On tap at 4:20 in Rome-Italy at the Colorado Tap takeover event (perpetual thanks to Alex and Cris for making this possible). Amber semi-clear pour, little foam. Nose: peach, orange zest. Mouth: watery start with a peppery finish. A bit spicy too. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 16oz- the pour is a clear pale orange gold with a thin off white head. The aroma is ok with citrus hops, sour bile, hint of clove, lemon and some booze. Interesting flavors like a lot of citrus sour notes, bitter hop, mild spice and cracker like malt.

375ml bottle. Spicy Belgian yeast with citrus hop, clove, fruity esters and peppery notes. Pours orange-amber colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with pear and apple fruitiness as well as a good amount of clove. Finishes semi-dry with spicy Belgian yeast and citrus hop flavors as well as a good peppery ending. Quite nice.

Very cloudy, but a very interesting tan/orange color. This beer is very bubbly coming from a 22 oz bottle with a 3 finger head (medium pour). The head retention is phenomenal with loads of bubbles rushing up to replenish the supply. Nice punch of citrus and pine hops at first. Slight tart fruit hints. Buttery, savory, and caramel malt smelling. Hop bitterness is substantial at first but is fairly short-lived. Sweet malt, caramel, and butter flavors quickly come in. There is then some tart fruit flavors (apple / mango), and citrus, that push to the front. This brew dries out a bit, but overall, remains sweet and syrupy throughout. Medium+ feel. It seems to occupy a lot of space in the mouth as it remains fizzy and never really dies down. A bit on the thick side for style and quite oily. Very aromatic and flavorful. This seems like a more savory and fruity version of a double IPA. There doesnt seem to be much evidence of "Belgian" other than some orange undertones. There are no real spice/coriander taste or Belgian yeast tang.

Draft at Brewers Republic. Pours clear golden amber with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like floral hops, fruity, grapefruit hops, and citrus fruit. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like floral hops, resin, grapefruit, and citrus hops.

From the tap, the pour is cloudy dark burnt orange in color with a think cream head that dissipates slowly, the aroma is fruity with Belgian notes, the taste is citrus hops and Belgian, and the finish is peppery and the mouthfeel is full.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, dark golden color with a frothy white head. Strong, yeasty aroma with hops and citrus as well. Belgiany taste with a citrus finish. Hops lingering. Pretty interesting brew. But I like it.

Appearance is clear light golden, with a small, thick bubbled head that diss appeared immediately. Aroma is dominated by fruity Belgian yeast. For a double IPA the hop aroma is almost nonexistent, with a slight grapefruit and resin. Taste is a light malt that gives way to a strong, tart grapefruit taste, with hints of apple and pear from the yeast. Mouthfeel is light with low carbonation and a slight solventy alcohol. Finishes with a strong lingering bitterness and grapefruit flavor. Subpar version of what its supposed to be. Not sure how this is 130 IBU. Tastes like 60 max.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit), with notes of sour apple, bile, bubble gum, cotton candy, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Another poorly made beer from River North. This pretty much ends my exploration of them. I was lured into thinking theyd had across-the-board improvements since 2012, but only Avarice, Quandary, and Tripel are decent (plus the two anniversary one-offs)...everything else is still scoring in the 2s for me, sadly. Maybe in two more years theyll get the remaining problems solved; sure hope so.
