Moderated the base beer. Don’t like the aroma so much . less lace. 2014 beer liked the modest charred oak. Thick good mouthfeel. 2015 better aroma. Best of the horizontal of avarice. Edgier taste. Sticky lacy foam.

Bottle pour from mydude’s dude.
Pours black with a small head.

Aroma is rich & boozy with some big sweet & fudgy elements, some caramel... Lots of whiskey, a pretty sizeable roast quotent.

The flavor is big, sweet, & boozy with plenty of roast & bitterness for balance. It’s chocolaty & plenty whiskey forward.

Tasty

Th whisky barreling kills all remnants of Belgian in this imperial stout, but is so delicious as to still be an improvement. Thin for an 11.5% beer but smooth. Strong whiskey notes with anise and roast. Quite enjoyable.

On tap at Stong Ale Fest - 2015. Pour is deep brown, almost black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Caramelized sugars, coconut, cocoa nibs, dark fruits, raisins, and toffee in the aroma. Taste is big coconut, raisins, toffee, ripe prunes, dates, brown sugar, oak, and light spice. Thick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really tasty stuff.

A frothy dark khaki head crowns a midnight black body with a ring of leopard lace and alcohol legs all around

Aromas and flavors are rich with licorice, dried dark fruit, and dark cherry with a massive base of chocolate cake, peanut butter-cocunut-cream balancing, accented by elegant whiskey spikes, bold, integrated, and creamy, what else do you want from the style?

Tap at the brewery - pours pitch black - moderate lace - I’ve been meaning to revisit new batches of the base beer and this beer really motivates me - the whiskey barrel makes it a little boozy, but there is a lot of great stuff going on here - nose of brown sugar, tamarind, smoke, raisin, tannic notes - flavor hasa lot of earthy, peaty charactwr from the whiskey - sweet, but with a dry earthy whiskey and smoke quality - bittersweet chocolate - dark fruit - finish is a little hot, but this is fairly.
