UPDATED: JUL 21, 2017 Can on a cold night in July(wife had the air set too high). Dark pour with big tan head. Roasted malt aromas. Flavor of roasted malt and chocolate. Thin to medium body. Thanks for the trade JB.

Powdery chocolate. Seemed like a dry stout. Okay. Toasty roasty throughout.

On tap at Old Bull Tavern in Beaufort. Pours a translucent dark brown/black with some clumpy, off white head. Straight up stout nose, toast, toffee, mild coffee bean, some grist, a little molasses chew. Flavor follows, toast, bread crust, molasses, toffee, coffee soda. Dry finish, grainy. Just a good ol’ stout.

Draft at the source. Dark brown color, small tan head. Aroma of dark roast coffee. Taste is roasty coffee grounds. Nice.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of hazlenuts, walnuts, light malt, alcohol and a touch of cream - not too much deep here. Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty flavour with some subdued malt and cream flavours and a little chocolate flavour, but no coffee nor roasted malt flavour in here at all. Aftertaste shows cream, hazlenuts, peanuts and a touch of peat - not much going on here in any respect. Overall, a decent beer at best with no chocolate, no coffee and no depth at all. That said, it isn’t a bittering nor offensive beer at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from The Charleston Beer Exchange in Charleston, South Carolina on 20-April-2015 for US$2,39 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 10-July-2015.

Another good one at River Rat. Thinner than many stouts, but very drinkable with great flavor.
