Draft at Big Beers. Easily the strangest German hefe I have ever seen. Dark brown but tastes like a classic German hefe. This was a really cool beer...well done. One of a kind for now. Tmoney99 (14472) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Bottle. Poured a hazy brown color with an average light brown head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy nutty, yeast and toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate nut sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Draft to pint. Looks solid; a cloudy brown with beige head. Smells malty and yeasty. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a nice Hefe zip. Solid. bluejacket74 (1992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - OCT 26, 2012
12 ounce bottle. Served in a weizen glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy dark brown with about an inch tan head. The head didn’t stay around for too long, and there isn’t much lacing. The aroma smells like yeast, cloves, sweet bready malt and some bananas. Taste is similar to the aroma, with the yeasty and malty flavors being well balanced. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating with moderate carbonation. It’s not a bad brew overall, but I wouldn’t pay $2.99 a bottle for this again. With that being said, I do think it’s worth a try. Beer #3 in Rivertown’s Brewmaster’s Limited Release Series. Chudwick (3205) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - NOV 23, 2012
12oz bottle - pours dark amber with vanishing offwhite head. Nose is wheat berry champagne. Flavor adds a saison-like yeast quality and bread. For the style this really stands out. I shied away from this beer for a while but I shouldn’t have; it’s got character and produces questions. One thumb up.

Sample during the Armageddon tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 12/20/2012. The beer is a dark brownish-red color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and roasted malt. Light-bodied with flavors of biscuit malt, fruity yeast and a bit of spice. The finish is sweet with a berry and banana aftertaste. Decent overall. Drjohnrock (805) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2013
Twelve ounce bottle from The Party Source, tasted on December 30, 2012. Very dark coffee color, assertive nose with yeast, spice, banana and vinous-like notes, thin body, fairly big sweet flavor with raisin, plum and other fruit notes. Some astringency detracted a little from the overall experience but a pretty good beer overall. phaleslu (10247) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazed nut brown color, on the darker side, with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and a small spot of film. Aroma of banana bread, toasted nuts and wheat, and chocolate. Flavor is pretty much the same slate of notes. Light-bodied, with modest carbonation and a smooth, thin mouthfeel. Goes down easy. Good dunkelweizen. JaBier (7972) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle purchased at Blacklick Wine & Spirits. Brown pour with a medium tan head. Banana and caramel in the nose along with some roast. Banana and clove flavor with caramel and a bit of roast before a tart finish. JStax (6482) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JAN 29, 2013
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a darker, translucent brown with a bubbly beige head of foam. No retention. The aroma is oddly metalic with some nuts and mild esters trying to come through. The taste is a little more active with the clove and banana esters coming through nicely. This beer actually does taste pretty good. Nice level of carbonation. Overall, it isn’t too bad.
