On tap at World Beer Festival in Cleveland. First time I’ve tasted it, huge beer of almost 12%, super strong, spicey! phaleslu (10898) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Draft sample at The Party Source. 11.99% - THANKS A LOT, OHIO. Pours a cloudy amber with a finger of beige head that sticks. Sweet, malty aroma, with boozy bread, brown sugar, caramel, dates, syrup, and mild spice. Flavor was basically the same. Figs, maybe some gingerbread. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, sticky mouthfeel. I thought this was a sweet Belgian quad. Basically what it is. Dogbrick (14326) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Sample at The Daily Growler. Hazy copper-amber color with a medium thick beige head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast. Full-bodied and syrupy with flavors of candied fruit, yeast, and sweet malt. The finish is sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Above average overall. drsordr (2927) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Draft sample. Color clear brown. Nose sweet Belgian candy and caramel malt. Taste initial of sweet Belgian candy, caramel malt, some clove spiciness. Some mid palate mineral followed by bitter finish. Solid brew from Rivertown Tmoney99 (15126) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Draft. Poured hazy dark amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex toasted dark fruit earthy pepper aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a smooth complex solid beer.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a hazy dark amber/caramel color with a small fine yellowish beige head. The aroma had me intrigued; sweet caramel, ripe fruits, candi sugar, yeast with mild spices. The flavor is a big dose of sweet caramel, brown sugar, dark ripe fruits, a mild earthy note, and smooth. Not a hint of the alcohol which I guess can be good and bad. b3shine (9267) - Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; a semi-opaque orangish-brown with light beige lacing. Smells solid; dark fruit and Belgian yeast with a fairly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Enjoyable, and masks the alcohol nicely. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Snifter on tap. $7 at Keystone. $5 at Dutch’s. Hazy red / orange / brown color. Good thin khaki head. Leaves nice lace. Really nice, big, interesting complex nose. Cherries, some chocolate, light spice. A little maple syrup, or that fruity syrup you get at pancake places. Light candy sugar. Some light earthy hop. Bigger body. Lighter, smooth carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Sweeter taste, light spice. If it’s 12%, then the alcohol is impressively well-hidden. Doesn’t seem to drink like the ABV. Just a very light bite in the finish. Solid darker belgian strong ale.
