COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crafted for the ones that are free to enjoy their Porter all year round. This rich, Imperial Porter combines the perfect blend of LaTerza espresso, vanilla and innovation into a big, rich, chocolate, espresso infused brownie of a beer that is as innovative as its namesake. Rivertown was asked to craft a beer for a community festival in 2011 which celebrated the 145th Birthday of the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge linking Cincinnati, OH and Covington, KY. This Imperial Porter is inventive, unique, well balanced, strong, and has been created to be as timeless and remarkable as the Roebling Bridge, the man who dreamed big and the community that brought that dream to life.

Cocoa coffee smell and taste, Pitch black at side, Coke Pepsi color on top, rather good ohio porter.

Pretty good, I really enjoyed the coffee in this, it had a good punchy flavor, tasted like a good cold brew to some extent, and the vanilla gave it a pseudo-cream element, of course there was a decent semi-sweet chocolatey porter underneath.

Okay vanilla porter, not all that imperial but not the super-sweet vanilla bomb I was expecting, either. Mostly dry, mild chocolate notes with a firm vanilla finish. Pretty terrible nose, homebrewish and sour, but luckily the taste doesn’t follow suit. A bit thin, but tasty.

On tap at World Of Beer. Not what I’d expected, the dried fruit flavours are quite forward.

SpringsLicker (3644) - Tennessee, USA - AUG 31, 2016
Clear dark brown with a fine-grained off-white head. The aroma is light cocoa powder. The flavor is roast malts, some chocolate accompanied by a strange sourness that detracts.

ganache (5958) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 15, 2016
Bottle. Nose roasty and chocolate, smooth, a little saccharine; pour dark brown with a tan cola head. Full body smooth (flattish even) with artificial/roughly extracted vanilla bean and non-acrid coffee and chocolate, again plagued by an artificiality. Also do need that acrid or acid touch, because this threatens to cloy without quenching. Medium-full sweetness and low bitterness. [2016.08.14: 2.6]

smaynard6000 (1184) - Apopka, Florida, USA - JUL 25, 2016
Bottle. Pours black with a minimal beige head. Almost no carbonation. Aroma is mostly of dark chocolate. Somewhat sweet roasty flavor with chocolate notes and a bit of vanilla. Medium bodied with sweet finish. Nothing imperial about this. A bit disappointing.

Bottle from Table and Vine. Pours out a very dark blackish brown. Thin head fades quickly. Sweet and roasty aromas and flavor. Smooth roasty body. Good balance, but still rather thick and sweet.

beertholomeus (1813) - California, USA - JUN 22, 2016
Pours a dark brown, almost black color with a short lived khaki head. Sugar, syrup, caramel, vanilla, light coffee and toast aroma.Vanilla, sugar, coffee, caramel, toffee and toast flavors. Medium light body and moderate carbonation. Sweet vanilla and licorice finish. Super watery and pretty bland overall. You have to really look for the flavors.

3.1
FROTHINGSLOSH (7901) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 31, 2016
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a thin almost black color with a trace soapy brown head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was vanilla and brewed coffee. The flavor was vanilla cream, brewed coffee, cocoa and hint of wood and dark fruits. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth but undercarbonated. Feels like its close to being really good but keeps falling short in every category.
