Poured from 12 ounce bottle from pick-your-own-six-pack at Finneytown Kroger. Cloudy gold/amber hue, small slightly off white head that slowly dissipated with little lacing, moderate sweet/spicy nose, nice bittersweeet flavor with spice and wheat, little banana and no clove. Not your typical hefeweizen--the wheat ale designation is probably more accurate--but quite nice.

Poured into a weizen glass. 3.0 A: Clear light orange color. Got less than one finger of head to form and it left pretty quickly. Short ring of lacing. 2.5 S: Aroma on this is pretty uninspired. Lacking all the usual suspects of a hefe - very little spiciness, no yeastiness at all. Neutral wheat is the strongest thing going. It does have something like a bubble gum aroma, but it’s probably just the hops. Speaking of which, hops are a grassy floral combination. Not particularly enticing. 2.25 T: Taste is even more disappointing. Wheat and then the hoppiness found in the nose - floral, bubblegum, grass. Light wheat flavor. Again disappointing is about all you need to know. 2.5 M: Medium body. A bit less carbonation than I’d like. Missing the creaminess, which is probably due to the lack of yeast. 2.0 D: Nothing good going on in this. Avoid. ★ 856 characters DavoleBomb, Sep 03, 2013

Bottle at home from notes. Pours a clear dark golden color with a medium sized white head that doesn’t last. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, pilsner malt, lemony citrus, not much else. No real signs of the banana or cloves, bland.

The beer is either infected or has brett. It’s a strange urinal cake with malt and hops buried in it. The appearance is hazy gold with a medium head. The taste is garbage and like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall awful beer!

on tap @ Rivertown Brewing / Cincinnati OH --- Clear light amber, rim head and a dusting of a cover, thin strings of lace. Taste is malt and wheat with a little caramel showing in the palate. Hops jump in briefly in the finish, but can’t hold on , giving way again to malt at the end. A light beer, but good.

Pours a clear lager-golden color with NO head. Flat lager nose, with sanitant cleanser noted from the glass over the beer’s aroma. Full, wet, smooth mouthfeel. Freezer burn flavor overpowers anything else going on. This is the worst beer I’ve ever had.

Rated on 10-21-2011 (Bottle) This beer has a very small white head with a lengthy retention, transparent pale yellow body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is malt, wheat, citrus hops, and crisp. The flavor is lightly bitter, citrus hops, lightly spicy, malt, and wheat. This beer has a lively mouthfeel and is medium bodied. This beer is not very tasty as it needs more flavor and more character.

Bottle from Beer:30 in Jacksonville. Murky orange-yellow pour with visible carbonation and sturdy soap head. Aroma is wheat, spice, earthy. Tastes are bittersweet, spicey, spruce, pine, belgian yeast. Little strange. Not as bad as I’d have guessed based on ratings.

Secret Krampus beer #3, thanks Peter.

Pours golden clear yellow, nice white head, no real lacing or retention to speak of. The aroma is actually somewhat hoppy, which I found odd. At first I thought this was a crappy IPA but then I noticed that it’s an "American hefeweizen"...Beyond the hops are grass, grain, lemon, and mediocrity. I’m not opposed to taking a garbage style like pale wheat ale and hopping it up to make it drinkable but this is either old or it failed. The flavor is bitter, lemon, thin, corn, and seltzer water. Meh.

1/25/14. 12oz bottle. Can’t remember for sure if this was from Trader Joe’s or from PorterPounder or Aurelius. I guess I didn’t know what I was getting into with this one. Is the "mysterious twist" Brett? Because it sure smells and tastes like it. I would have guessed I was drinking a Brett saison or something. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Brett funk and hay on the aroma, light sourness. Mild flavor, again Brett and lightly sour, some doughy malt poking through. Actually not bad, but not sure if that’s what it’s supposed to be.

Not much here. Much better wheats on the market. Murky pour. Taste is somewhat bland.
