On tap at the Pour House. Sweet and tangy nose, with high gravity candi sugar, spicy hops and something herbal (my guess would be heather, but I’m not familiar with heather). Medium dark amber clear with mild haze, topped with off-white creamy lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation, alcoholic warming. Taste is a sweet-tang malty base, with lots of spicy-herbal notes, mild acidity, with yeasty-lemon notes. Tangy-sweet after with a bit of warming. Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark golden-amber color with a large creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart and tangy with notes of orange and bread. The flavor was tart and bitter with fairly strong notes of lemon, orange and bread. Alcohol is noticeable throughout. The finish was long, tangy and had lingering citrus and alcohol. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.
