Rcvd in trade. Reviewed from notes.
The appearanace is a hazy blond/yellow colored body with a one finger white foamy head that levels off and dies at a nice pace leaving a clingy sort sporadic lacing.
The smell has some pure pineapple notes dominating the entire aroma all the way through, some light malts come through.
The taste is the pineapple drastically in front and nothing else; pineapple aftertaste with a dry pineapple finish.
On the palate, well, it sits about a light to medium but the pineapple juice does actually create something that does sit just a tad heavier, still somewhat sessionable, carbonation is fairly smooth
Overall, I say a pretty good "fruit/vegetable" beer, I think I would have again, but most likely I’d seek again in the summer time as this one just seems to want to provide a refreshing aspect. Strykzone (7582) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 16, 2014
12 ounce can received in a trade with jdb288. This beer pours clear and has no head or visible carbonation. Pineapple in the aroma along with just a bit of malts. The flavor is pineapple juice. Those light malts. Just a bit of fizz to the feel. This is very refreshing and light drinking. It would make an ideal lawn mower beer. Better drinking than it scores. burg326 (5596) - Florida, USA - JAN 5, 2014
Poured a golden yellow out of can with aromas of grain, light hops and sweet pineapple. Flavors were grain and light pineapple with a sweetness in the after taste. jgb9348 (6438) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 3, 2014
Hazy golden blonde coloured body with a nice thick, four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pineapple, alcohol, grapes, oranges and a good malt backbone, but the sweetness and tropical fruits dominate. Medium-bodied; Strong pineapple flavour with a ton of sweetness right behind and a subdued yet still vibrant malty flavour. Aftertaste shows a nice tropical and floral kick with some light hops and a mild metallic note, but the pineapple and sweetness are by far the strongest. Overall, a nice and sweet fruit beer with more emphasis on tropical notes and sweetness than anything else, but the complexity exists. I sampled this pint on draught from Dunedin House of Beers yesterday on 02-January-2014. hampale (118) - Jaffrey, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Acquired a can at an informal tasting. My first pineapple beer and, to my surprise, I drank the whole can. It’s appearance wasn’t particularly appealing - very little head made it look more like fruit juice. It did not have a strong pineapple aroma or taste but, nonetheless, it’s lightness made it quite drinkable. Doubt that I’ll buy it again but enjoyed the opportunity to try it. Much better than the watermelon beers I’ve tasted.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with no head. Looks like fruit juice. Minimal aroma of pineapple. Semi-sweet pineapple flavor. No lacing. MrBunn (2844) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Can. So this was a major surprise. The amount of pineapple in the flavor is darn impressive. Tastes like pineapple juice that is a little thin but impressive. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - NOV 16, 2013
A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Lots of Light, Thin White Head Ring, Almost No Lacing
S: Sugary Pineapple
T: Sweet Pineapple
M: Mediocre Carbonation, Light Bodied, Semi Sweet
Overall, its a pineapple beer...check expectations at the door....I can see why non craft beer drinkers may like this. DonIPA (8) - Pinellas Park, Florida, USA - NOV 1, 2013 does not count
Aroma is sweet, fruity and you pickup the pineapple.
Appearance is cloudy yellow like a wit or lemon shandy.
Taste is sweet like malty fruit juice. You can detect the malt and the very slightest hint of a hop.
Palate is light-medium and a little sticky because of the pineapple juice. Starts and ends sweet.
Overall this is a pineapple shandy. Honestly it is kind of unique and could be refreshing by a pool on a summer day. You have to really like pineapple. If it were any other fruit I would rate the beer lower but pineapple beer is something you don’t get to try in a can or even bottle everyday. I hate to like this beer but I really find it pleasing. 12 ounce can
Thanks to whomever gave me a can of this. It was an interesting experiment that went wrong somewhere along the way. More like a fruit cooler than a beer it does not inspire me to grab many more Rivertowne beers except for the Pennsylvania ticks.
Aroma / Appearance - A transparent golden base shimmers and fails to capture much light. A light head falls very quickly to nothing until all the bubbly carbonation is exposed directly to the air. Strong pineapple and citrus stick in the air with hardly any depth. In fact it is almost as bland as a pint of pineapple juice.
Flavor / Palate - Light hops show signs of life that are soon dashed by a heavy hit of pineapple. More fruit juice than beer it lacks any depth. The result is drinkable yet somehow not interesting. If you do have a can share it with three or four people so you have less to drink yourself.
