On tap the brewery. Molasses, licorice and malty nose, nutty with a little bit of hop spice. Light smoky-coffee notes but very weak. Burnt sugar. Dark brown-black clear with thin head. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Starts medium sweet with molasses, burnt sugar, and some carbonic smoky acidity. Pretty smooth throughout but mild bitter end. Sweet after and some nutty dry astringency. FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2011
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was woody, dry , roasty and a bit smoky. The flavor was semi-sweet with a moderate woody and nutty presence and touches of smoke and bacon. Medium finish and body. Ok.
