Nice beer, imagine this beer fermenting in bourbon, it would be phenomenal.

Deep black pour with a thick dark brown head. The aroma has a bit of char, dark roast coffee and bitter dark chocolate. A little bit of fairly herbal hoppiness, woody and herbal with a touch of bitterness on the finish. Not a lot of Belgian character in spite of statements that it should be there. There is an assertive roasty bitterness on the finish. It's a bit rough around the edges, but it does have a heavy malt profile, some assertive bitterness and an assertive roast. Sticky malt and a bit of chewiness.

2013 edition, found on shelves. Mouldy, less so in last part of the bottle. More bitterness became of age? Hops in the finish. Drinkable, with food. Dark colour.

In a snifter glass, poured a very thick mocha coloured foamy head and has an extremely dark appearance, pitch black. Pretty dirty sticky lacing. Head goes away about halfway through, leaves a thin layer. Aromas of dark roasted malts, strong coffee, caramel and toffee. Has a full bodied creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Slight chocolate bitter aftertaste. Flavours are just wow. Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, mocha, caramel, nuts all blended together. Yum. Great imp stout, don’t think i’ve been disappointed with one yet. At 9% abv, barely registers, at first of course. Well balanced and pretty easy to drink, but comes in a 750ml bottle. Want more!

Pours dark, tons of foam with lots of fruit nose and some espresso. Big sweet, medium bitter. Lightish creamy mouth with lively carbonation.
