Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt notes with some bitter black chocolate notes is pleasant enough. Taste is also dominated by dry roasted malt with some bitter black chocolates notes. Belgian yeast provides light and quite subtle fruity notes with some cocoa also noticeable. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice take of the style.

750 ml purchased at La Saucisserie BAM in Laval (Quebec) on December 16, 2012. Black, medium dark beige head. Aroma of chocolate and sour fruits coffee, very malty. Mocka coffee taste, slightly hoppy, very dry bitterness. This beer came out just before the so call End of the World in December of 2012, much better to drink it on St. Pattys Day 2014!

Black pour with a decent sized tan head. Roasted malt, belgian yeast and Coffee in the aroma. Chocolate and bitter coffee up front, yeast, soy, roasted malt, a bit of smoke. Medium body, fairly lively carbonation. A surprise from a brewer I usually stay clear of.

Premire bire note depuis six mois.

MartinT (9653) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 8, 2013
My Bottom Line:
This deeply roasty Imperial Stout takes dark chocolate and coffee flavors to peppery and raisiny edges for a very satisfying sipping experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the deep black.
-The nose also recalls black sesame.
-The Belgian yeast is discreet under all that roast and rich sugars.
-Fruitiness remains light throughout.

Bottle; 2013 version.
