Doesn’t quite live up to the original, but still is pretty good. A cloudy yellow color gives off a bouquet of oranges, coriander, baking soda. The firm medium body is mildly yeasty, orangey and hints of hot cross buns, ending in a dry orange finish Eructoblaster (4263) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2004
Nice hazy straw body with some orange glints. White dense head. Wonderful fruity (citrus) and spicy aroma that bears some hints of yeast. Same marvellous taste, but I was expecting a little more from the final. Very nice! I'm just looking forward to rate its belgian sister! tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2004
Nice strong banana aroma with a touch of citrus. Initial finger wide head recedes fairly quickly to just cover. Star coloured and hazy as one would expect. Flavour is actually similar to my recollection of La Chouffe although this one is less spicy and seems more sweet citrus and less pear-like. It seems a bit more subdued. I find the flavour on this one lingers a bit more on this one than on the original and that's a bonus. Carbonation is a bit prickly but this has a nice chewy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. Yeast, banana, alcohol detected in the nose. Very citrusy and fruity (lemon, orange, apricot) with a hint of sweetness. Balanced and refreshing on the first few sips. As it warms, however, the sourness becomes overpowering. The alcohol content is well-hidden in the brew. Crockett (1119) - Southampton, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 7, 2004
Straw yellow and hazy. Fluffy small beaded head. Spicey sweet aroma with fruit, bananas and mild yeast. Effervescent alcohol warmth. Very light yeast. Fruit boozey with some syruppy honey, malt notes. Quality brew, but a tad harsh.

Thanks go out to Rastacouere for sending another beer. Pours a clouded orange amber. Small white head. Nose is spicy and yeasty but with some fruit and lighter honey notes. The tongue is steeped in spice (maybe coriander), some honey, yeast and citrus. Perhaps a wit mixed with a Belgian Strong? Some definite citrus and spice in the finish. Very summer-like Belgian beer. Light and refreshing but a very good beer indeed! nickchalk (229) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2004
Hazy light orange, quickly dissapearing white bubbly head. Yeasty aroma is of berries with some grainy notes. Flavour peppery with some light sweetness, some sour notes, short dry finish. Light bodied, low carbonation. Not bad. Bottle. muzzlehatch (4963) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 1, 2004
660 ml bottle. Light, bright golden color, massive but weak head. Light but pleasant musty/yeasty (cobwebby, old papery) nose. Very sweet flavor, lemony and a touch minty at the front, yeasty and peppery with a bit more oomph at the finish. Very light bodied, but very refreshing. Lemon-lime soda? Alcoholic 7up? In a way, but in a good way, very easy to drink and clean, but just enough flavor to leave a mark. No alcohol presence detected whatsoever. Not great, but I like it, thanks loads MartinT! Cloudy straw color, small white head that faded quickly to leave a small lace behind.Fruity wheat aroma with a nice mild spice to it,hints of lemon grass, and mildly sweet smelling.creamy like feel in the mouth at first with a nice fruity taste of lemon and an even better spicey edge to it.Wheaty tasting as well. The after taste is fruity and spicy with a nice hop presence.Very nice brew much better then the regular La chouffe IMO.Very easy to frink in fact i think i could drink this all night on a cold night. The alcohol in this brew never really makes a grand appearance but stay's quite hidden. Thanks go to Rastacouere for this brew. jercraigs (10527) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2003
Bottle. Hazy golden body with a huge fluffy white head that takes a while to settle down. Aroma is yeasty with spicey pepper notes. Flavour is an interesting spiciness, some lemony hints of citrus. A spritely palate danced across the tongue. Didn't love it but enjoyed it.
