A finely-bubbled beer made from wheat and barley. Like the traditional Belgian "White" it is refreshing, light and slightly fruity. Bottle refermentation imparts a yeast enriched flavor.

Not to be confused with the separate Blanche made by the brewpub Cheval Blanc.

New bottles do not feature "de blé" anymore, but simply La Blanche and Cheval Blanc.

341mL from a mixed sixer I got at a little Dep in Hull while in Ottawa for the OUA champ swim meet. Pours your standard hazy goldish white with a small white head. Aroma is just great, I love the unique yeast character of this brewery. Flavour is a really nice blend of barley and wheat malts with a watery feel to it that actually works as it helps lay out the dry yeasty awesomeness. For a style I’m not in love with this beer really impressed me and was so damn refreshing after walking through to Quebec and back.

(341 ml. bottle with white horse’s head on the label) hazy light gold with small white head. Citrus/yeast aroma. Flavor is wheat, yeast, hint of citrus.

Pours a slightly cloudy dull wheat colour with a short-lived head and a slight witbier aroma highlighted by cloves. Tastes like a typical wit, good spicing, lightly warming finish. Really chewy body and good carbonation, shame about the head. A good effort, definitely sessionable.

good hazy golden color. pretty small white head. Aroma is a touch yeasty, with some subtle citrus notes, and a little spice. Flavour has a nice citrus note off the bat, and finiishes with a nice hop note. Mouthfeel is nice and balanced and full. This is a great summer beer, crisp, and quenching, not HUGE on any particular flavour just a solid wit.

Brouwser (119) - gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2007

radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 22, 2007
Pale golden in colour, white coloured head that was fairly quickly to dissipate, average lacing. The aroma is of bananas, lemons and some light spice. The flavour is of yeast, citrus, wheat, bananas and spice, some lemons. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes mid length, crisp, lightly spicy. An average non-overpowering Belgian White beer.
