Bottle. Pours a clear ruby tinged brown. Toast, a bit of nutty malt on the nose with some touches of roasting coffee. Medium bodied, smooth and sweet with a nice amount of malt to it. Nice mouthfeel, creamy and soft. Finishes up with some nutty malt and a nice toasty bitterness. BlackWarrior (203) - Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2011 Pours a reddish brown with small off white head. Smells of toasted malts, chocolate and molasses. A nutty, malt flavor with some bitterness. The body is light to medium with crisp carbonation. Overall, a decent brown ale. Dorwart (2590) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - DEC 12, 2010
Wow, some really nasty looking stuff at the bottom of the bottle. Almost looks like cream of wheat. Strong head of fine bubbles. Roasty and nutty aroma with some molasses. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Slightly bitter flavor but is dominated by roasted flavors. Some light grainy notes and tea leaves. Lingering roasty and bitter finish. An ok brew. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 28, 2010
Slightly hazy deep brown body with a wispy thin lightly off white head. The nose is the expected rich toffee and pecans. There is also a hint of apple. The taste has black tea and old caramel. There is also a strong malty bread dough character. This reminds me a lot of Newcastle and they nailed that style of brown ale. Actually, this is pretty nice for the style, but the carbonation is a touch harsh for me. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - OCT 18, 2010
On tap @ Lure’s, Crownsville, Md-Brown pour w/a tan head. Some chocolate on the aroma. Slight flavors of roasted malt, some chocolate, some interest... Boring example of a boring style, only tried it as a free tick when a friend who likes browns got a free sample from the bartender. I know I’m not thrilled w/this style, so I sure wasn’t gonna buy it!

12oz bottle: Appearance is medium brown with off white head, aroma of pale and roasted malts, flavor is again with pale and roasted malts with hints of chocolate. For being a more generic brew I kind of like this one. radagast83 (8069) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 18, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy brown color, still a bit translucent. Aroma is malty, touch of coca, tinge of bitter coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, touch of toffee, nothing powerful. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 30, 2010

Deep hazy amber pour with thick pillowy off white head. Malty scent. Taste is malty with some nuts thrown in.
