A rather chocolate like aroma. The color is a quite dark opaque brown. The chocolate carries over to the taste as well, but with not much of an after taste.
A decent beer.

Bottle - Good nut brown flavor, not heavy on the malt which is good. For a brown ale: smooth, light, slightly crisp with hints of toasted notes. Pretty good all things considered on this brown ale. JStax (7307) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - APR 25, 2015
Draft pour into a pint glass. Pours a clear brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma lends some sweet caramel notes and mild fruits. Taste is moderately sweet. Medium carbonation and low to medium body. Not bad, but mostly not good. Foxbush (2140) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 30, 2015
12 oz bottle This is the first of my 12 beers per month as a gift from AOPD.
The ale poured a clear reddish brown color with a light tan head and lacing. Nutty and bready malts greet you. The taste is more complex with some chocolate and toasted malts. The ale has a light body and average carbonation. A nice brown ale with a clean dry finish to the last swallow. nathan30533 (1022) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - MAR 24, 2015
Decent tasting brown. Not anything incredible but smooth and easy drinking.

trailer. Clear dark brown color with fleeting tan foam. Dark bread, nutty, sour dough aromas. Medium body. Lightly sweet caramel flavors with roasted nuts, dark bread___nicely bitter finish----not bad.
This had a huge, unmanageable foamy head that took forever to shrink. Deep copper color with a light grainy nose. Very carbonated on the tongue. Taste of wet grains, old toast and a bit of a tartness that I found off putting. Not much to recommend this beer. Maverick34 (3389) - New York, USA - JAN 24, 2015
Bottled. Dark brown mahogany pour. Malts and bit of caramel bread. Unspectacular in general. ronaldtheriot (2019) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - DEC 27, 2014
RJ Rockers Brown Eyed Squirrel nut brown ale has a thick, beige head, a murky, standard brown appearance, a plethora of tan yeast chunks swirling about, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of brown bread crust, nut shell, and sweetness, but a big inhalation is required to pick up any scent. Taste is of the same elements, with low-level bitterness and a touch of sourness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and RJ Rockers Brown Eyed Squirrel finishes fairly crisp and quite easy drinking. RJT geologyguy (1686) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - DEC 15, 2014
Very light but brown malt smell, same with taste, slight hoppy finish, can taste some alcohol, no finesse here, boo...

Ok beer but very generic...nothing of note...very similar to everything else.. Very mundane
