from a bottle, think i got it at vintage. some gunk on the bottom of the bottle. sterile olfactory wioth a tad of plastic. first taste is bot over the top, a more acceptable start and i even feel a little tartness in there no lie. goodly amount of co2 sizzle and i like that. mild malts very little if any hops. goes down ok for a 6% er. UPDATED: JUL 3, 2012 On tap 5 oz. sample at Judges Bench in Ellicott City, MD. Clear with a light haze, medium brown with small head and good lacing. Aroma of of rotting leaves, caramel and meat left in the freezer for a few years. Quite unpleasant. Taste of chocolate, zinc, toasted malt, nuts, coffee and soured milk. Medium/light body and light carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone thagr81_us (175) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Served from bottle into a shaker. Pours a dark brown with a minimal off-white head. Maintained good lacing thoughout. The aroma was comprised of roasted malt and nutty notes. The flavor followed the nose with light roasted malt and nutty characters. It was light on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was not a bad brew. However, the flavors of this one were quite muted for some odd reason, as it warmed up they came out a little more but were still not pronounced. Still a nice brown ale that is worth trying. Bottle. Beer of the month club. Dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of somewhat roasty and toasty malt with nuts, suagr, a bit of acidic malt and hints of chocolate. Rather sweet malty flavor with nuts, sugar, some toasted bread and caramel. Finishes drier with a bit of bitterness and light acidic notes. Medium-bodied. Kinda OK, a bit too sugary. Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a lighter brown with a small, light tan head. The nose is a little sweet with a slight nuttiness. The flavor mirrors the nose with the sweetness being the predominant character and just a hint of nuttiness and bitterness. Rather aggressive carbonation. Overly simple and not impressive in the least. Skip this one.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Murky brown, off-white head. Grain and mocha aroma. Thin, mild, very mild bitterness. Thin body, light carbonation, insignificant. DedicatedToFun (4003) - Santa Monica, California, USA - APR 20, 2012
Not very good either...i’m really struggling with this beer tasting tonight....... Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2012
Bottled. Poured medium amber with a colossal cap of sticky beige head. The aroma picked up airy, detergenty hops over nutty and chocolate malts.. something didn’t seem quite right. The flavor opened with odd tart, metallic notes that carried all the way through.. some soft nutty and chocolate notes at the core.. not much more came through. Tart and metallic as mentioned on the palate.. not so good. SanfordBrewer (1610) - Sanford, Florida, USA - APR 12, 2012
amber with lots of chunks swirling around and a thin but lasting beige head. medium body with sharp carbonation.
aroma: harsh astringent hoppy chemical, brown and roast malts.
taste: brown and chocolate malt, thin sharp hops, and a serious water/chemical chlorophenolic astringency.
i am sick of paying for beer that is undrinkably full of rookie brewing faults.
